Denver Broncos linebacker Jonathon Cooper was arrested
Thursday night in Colorado and is currently being held in custody on multiple
charges, according to reports.
The 28-year-old NFL player was taken into custody at
approximately 11:00 p.m. on Thursday. While the circumstances surrounding the
incident have not yet been disclosed, Cooper is facing two counts of domestic
violence in addition to a criminal mischief charge.
Records show that he was booked into a local detention
facility at 2:38 a.m. and is expected to appear before a judge on Friday
morning. A subsequent court hearing has been scheduled for Monday, June 8.
Cooper, now in his sixth NFL season, was selected by
the Denver Broncos in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft after a
successful college career at Ohio State University. He has since emerged as a
key contributor to Denver’s defense.
During the 2025 season, Cooper played in all 17 games,
registering eight sacks and 50 total tackles, helping anchor one of the
league’s strongest defensive units.
The Broncos organization has not yet released an
official statement regarding the arrest.
