The Edo State Government has announced a minor cabinet
reshuffle involving three key appointments, as part of efforts to strengthen
governance and improve efficiency within the state administration.
The changes were disclosed in a statement issued by
the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor.
According to the statement, Gani Audu, who previously
served as Chief of Staff, has been nominated as Commissioner for Oil and Gas
Resources, subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.
In the reshuffle, Vincent Osas Uwadiae has been
redeployed from the Ministry of Oil and Gas Resources to serve as Commissioner
for Lands and Housing.
Meanwhile, Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, who was until now
the Commissioner for Lands and Housing, has been appointed as the new Chief of
Staff to the Governor.
The changes take effect from January 30, 2026.
The governor expressed confidence that the adjustments
would enhance coordination across ministries, improve policy execution, and
further strengthen governance in Edo State.
