Ekiti Candidate Emerges Overall Best In 2026 UTME With 372 Score

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced Owoeye Daniella Jesudunsin from Ekiti State as the highest-scoring candidate in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The announcement was made during JAMB’s 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja on Monday.

According to JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, Jesudunsin scored 372 out of a possible 400 marks after sitting for the examination in Ogun State.

She applied to study Medicine and Surgery at University of Lagos (UNILAG) as her first-choice institution.

Her score falls three points short of the highest mark recorded in the 2025 UTME, when Chinedu Okeke from Anambra State achieved 375 marks.

Coming second in the 2026 ranking was Imo-born candidate, Enwere Kingsley Ikenna, who scored 370 marks. He selected Nile University in Abuja as his first choice and intends to study Computer Science.

Ayomide Bamisile from Ondo State secured third place with 369 marks. He applied to study Software Engineering at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA).

Several other candidates also recorded outstanding performances, with multiple students scoring 368 and 367 marks across different institutions and courses.

Among the candidates who scored 368 were Olabiyisi Olanrewaju, who applied for Mechatronics at Pan-Atlantic University; Victor-Onyeka Daniel, who chose University of Port Harcourt for Electrical/Electronics Engineering; and Osagiobare Daniel O., who applied to University of Benin to study Mechanical Engineering.

Others in the same score category include Ademiluyi Adebowale, who selected Obafemi Awolowo University for Computer Engineering, and Azuike Kenechukwu, who applied to Afe Babalola University for Software Engineering.

Candidates who scored 367 include Offorkile Michael, who chose the University of Ibadan for Computer Science, Adebisi Eniola S., who applied to Covenant University, and Umukoro Gift O., who also selected Pan-Atlantic University for Electrical/Electronics Engineering.

The release of the top scorers came shortly after JAMB announced the retention of 150 as the minimum admission cut-off mark for universities for the 2026 academic session.
