Defending champions Argentina, along with England, will set up their World Cup headquarters in Kansas City, according to the newly released list of training sites by FIFA.

The global football tournament, which kicks off next month, features a record 48 teams. The United States will host the majority with 39 team bases, while Mexico will host seven and Canada will host two.

Heimo Schirgi, the 2026 FIFA World Cup chief operating officer, noted that team base camps are a core part of the World Cup experience, providing a place for teams to settle, train, recover, and get into the daily rhythm of the tournament.

In a notable geopolitical move, Iran's base camp was confirmed for Tijuana, Mexico. On Monday, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum explained that Mexico agreed to host the Iranian team to help them bypass United States visa restrictions. Joining Iran in Mexico will be Colombia, South Korea, Mexico, South Africa, Tunisia, and Uruguay. Canada and Panama will establish their bases in Canada, leaving the remaining teams to train at various facilities across the US.
