British media personality Gemma Atkinson has revealed
she was once offered a substantial sum of money to criticise former partner
Cristiano Ronaldo following the end of their brief romance in 2007.
Speaking to Key 103 Radio, as reported by Transfer
News Live, Atkinson said she declined the offer because she had nothing
negative to say about the football star.
“When we broke up, I was offered a lot of money to
speak badly about him, and I didn’t want it because I had nothing negative to
say about him, so I see no reason to speak ill of him,” she said.
Atkinson and Ronaldo made headlines nearly two decades
ago when they were seen together during his time at Manchester United. However,
the relationship ended in October 2007.
The former soap actress is now married to Gorka
Márquez, and the couple share two children, Mia and Thiago.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, is engaged to Georgina Rodríguez.
Together, they have daughters Alana and Bella, and also welcomed twins Eva
Maria and Mateo via surrogacy. The couple previously shared a son, Angel, who
passed away shortly after birth. Ronaldo also has a son, Cristiano Jr., from a
previous relationship.
Rodríguez and Ronaldo first met in 2016 when she was
working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store in Madrid.
