Honor is set to launch its new smartphones, the Honor 400 and 400 Pro, on May 22, 2025. These devices will debut with an innovative AI-powered image-to-video feature developed in collaboration with Google. This marks the first time Google's Veo 2 model is integrated directly into a smartphone's native gallery app, allowing users to transform static images into dynamic five-second videos

 AI Image-to-Video: How It Works

The new feature enables users to select any still image—be it a personal photo, artwork, or AI-generated picture—and convert it into a short video clip. The process takes approximately one to two minutes per video, with the output saved in MP4 format. Notably, this tool operates without text prompts, relying solely on the image content to generate motion. While it performs well with straightforward subjects like pets or portraits, it may produce unexpected results with more complex scenes

Exclusive Early Access for Honor Users

Honor 400 and 400 Pro users will have exclusive early access to this AI feature, even before it's available to Google's own Pixel users. The feature will be free for the first two months post-launch, with a daily limit of 10 video generations. After this period, continued use may require a subscription, though specific pricing details have yet to be announced.

Enhanced Camera Capabilities

Beyond the AI video feature, the Honor 400 series boasts impressive hardware specifications. Both models are expected to feature a 200-megapixel AI-enhanced camera, with the Honor 400 Pro potentially offering advanced optical image stabilization. These enhancements position the devices as competitive options in the mid-range smartphone market.

This collaboration between Honor and Google signifies a notable advancement in mobile AI applications, bringing sophisticated image-to-video capabilities directly to users' fingertips.
