Juventus came close to an
extraordinary Champions League second-leg comeback but were eliminated by
Galatasaray after extra time on Wednesday.
Trailing 5-2 from the first leg,
Juventus took an early lead in the second leg when Manuel Locatelli converted a
penalty before halftime. Despite a red card for defender Lloyd Kelly, Juve
added goals from Federico Gatti and Weston McKennie to force extra time.
Kenan Yild?z also hit the post for
Juve during regulation, denying a bigger advantage. However, Galatasaray
capitalized in extra time, scoring through Victor Osimhen and Baris Alper
Yilmaz to secure a 7-5 aggregate victory despite losing 3-2 on the night.
