Lokoja, Kogi State
– Suspected kidnappers have abducted two individuals, including a security
guard and a pregnant woman, in Kogi State, demanding a ransom of ?65 million
for their release.
The incident occurred on Thursday, September 26,
2025, according to security sources. One of the victims, Jimoh Taheed
Adewale, a security guard with Unicane Company in Jamata Village,
was forcibly taken by armed men during the attack.
Ransom Demand Made to Victim’s Wife
The abduction was reported to the B Division Police
in Lokoja by the guard’s wife, Mrs. Adewale Funke, after she began
receiving ransom calls from the kidnappers, who used two different phone
numbers to demand payment.
Second Victim Taken Along Banda-Abuja Road
Preliminary investigations further revealed that the
assailants, armed with AK-47 rifles and disguised in military
camouflage with face masks, also kidnapped a pregnant woman along
the Banda–Abuja road during the same operation.
Security Response
Authorities confirmed that security agencies are
actively working to track down the kidnappers and ensure the safe
release of the two victims. The situation remains under investigation.
