The Department of State Services (DSS) has
arrested a popular Kaduna-based social media influencer, widely known as “Sarkin
Sultan,” over alleged involvement in cybercrime activities.
The arrest, which took place early on Saturday
morning, followed multiple petitions lodged against the influencer.
Allegations of Online Blackmail
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama,
one of the complaints came from a woman who accused “Sarkin Sultan” of
threatening to leak her private images online. The allegation triggered
a security investigation into his online activities.
DSS Investigation and Next Steps
Preliminary findings by the DSS reportedly confirmed
suspicious activities linked to the petitions. The suspect remains in custody
and is expected to be charged in court on Monday once the investigations
are finalized.
The case has sparked widespread discussion in Kaduna’s
online community, with many awaiting the court’s decision.
