Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman is in contention
for Atalanta’s Goal of the Season award.
Lookman earned his nomination for his impressive
strike in La Dea’s 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid, as well as his clinical finish in
the 5-0 routing of Empoli.
The 27-year-old fired a powerful shot past Thibaut
Courtois for Atalanta’s second goal against Real Madrid.
His second, a moment of pure skill, came after
collecting a clever pass from Mateo Retegui, dribbling past the goalkeeper, and
calmly placing the ball into the net.
The Super Eagles forward was named Man of the Match in
both games. Lookman is now looking to add another award to his growing
collection after securing Atalanta’s Player of the Season for two consecutive
years.
He finished the last campaign in fine form, scoring 22
goals and adding five assists in 46 appearances across all competitions.
