The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a
28-year-old man in connection with the killing of three of his siblings in
Okitipupa, Ondo State.
The incident, which occurred on April 7, 2026, was
confirmed in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh.
According to the police, the suspect, identified as
Femi Agbeye, allegedly attacked his siblings with a machete while their father
was away from home. The victims—Bose Agbeye (20), Dupe Agbeye (7), and Blessing
Agbeye (5)—were all members of the same family.
Authorities disclosed that the case was first reported
to the police by the suspect’s father, who raised the alarm after discovering
the tragic incident at their residence on Doctors Road in Okitipupa.
Upon receiving the report, police operatives swiftly
responded to the scene, where the victims were found lifeless. Their bodies
were subsequently evacuated and deposited at the State Specialist Hospital
morgue in Okitipupa for autopsy and preservation.
The command confirmed that the suspect was apprehended
on the same day in a coordinated operation. He is currently in police custody
and is expected to be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police
in Ondo State condemned the act, describing it as deeply disturbing and
unacceptable. He assured the public that justice would be pursued diligently
and urged residents to remain calm while cooperating with law enforcement
authorities.
The police also reiterated their commitment to
protecting lives and property, warning against all forms of violence within the
community.
