In its determination to put the name of the 1972 NPFL
champions, Mighty Jets International F.C. of Jos, on the world map of football,
the management of the club, ably led by Mr. Mbum Ferdinand, has signed a
partnership deal with Global Peace Advocacy and Empowerment Initiative for
branding and business initiatives, which include scouting and marketing
excellent club players abroad.
The elated Mighty Jets boss made this disclosure after
the endorsement of documents in his office. "We are proud to announce a
groundbreaking collaboration between Mighty Jets International F.C. and Global
Peace Advocacy and Empowerment Initiative, which is in collaboration with
Masita, a reputable sports kitting company based in the Netherlands," he
said.
Mr. Ferdinand explained that the partnership would
work with the Mighty Jets youth team and the men's team to sell their players
to some clubs in Europe, South America, and the Middle East. "We thank the
executive governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manaseh Mutfwang, who has
made it possible for us to think outside of the box at a time such as this.
"As His
Excellency, our sports-loving governor, rightfully pointed out, the Government
cannot continue to bankroll sports 100%. We also have to look for ways to
generate major resources, which is why we decided to sign this agreement. I
believe that, based on what I've seen so far, in the next couple of months, our
efforts will begin to yield results."
The Director General of Global Peace Football Club and
Global Peace Sports Management Limited, Amb. Chief Dr. Badamasi Sadiq hailed
the management of Mighty Jets Int'l FC for its foresighted leadership saying,
"We have been following the matches of the club and have observed that the
boys are talented and performing very well, especially in terms of their
players, both for the main team and the Under-19, as well as the feeder teams.
This is why we have chosen to establish a partnership agreement with them, so
that we can expose the players internationally."
Regarding the partnership with Masita, Mr. Ferdinand said, "Masita Global Sports Group will be kitting Mighty Jets; this is what we have signed. We are going to key into producing their jerseys, training wear, and traveling bags. We are going to travel with the general manager and one or two people from the club to Masita for an inspection of the company. After that, we will meet the Masita president and discuss how we can go about it."
