The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), in joint operations with
ground troops under Operation Hadin Kai, has neutralised more than 30
terrorists in Dar Jamel village, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
The coordinated operation, carried out on Friday, 5
September 2025, followed intense fighting between terrorists and friendly
forces in the area. Acting on urgent situation reports, the Air Component of
Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK) swiftly deployed Intelligence, Surveillance
and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft and launched air interdiction missions.
On arrival at Dar Jamel, aircrews confirmed the
position of friendly forces before ISR scans detected terrorists fleeing
northwards into surrounding bushes. In three successive precision strikes,
the insurgents were decisively engaged, resulting in the elimination of over 30
fighters. Reinforcement troops later secured the area and stabilised the
situation.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of
Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, said the mission’s
success highlighted the seamless synergy between air and ground forces
in counterterrorism efforts. He reiterated the military’s resolve to dismantle
terrorist networks, safeguard vulnerable communities, and restore peace across
the North East.
“The Nigerian Air Force, working closely with sister
services and other security agencies, will continue to take deliberate and
collaborative actions to ensure the safety and security of citizens across the
country,” Ejodame stated.
The operation marks the latest in a series of coordinated
offensives aimed at degrading insurgent capabilities and consolidating
security gains in conflict-affected areas.
