The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested over 100 suspects, including popular Lagos socialite Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, during a midnight raid on a nightclub alleged to be hosting a drug party.

The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, revealing that cartons of banned substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from the venue during the operation.

According to Babafemi, NDLEA operatives, acting on credible intelligence, infiltrated the club around 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, before executing the raid at about 3 a.m. on Sunday, October 26, in line with standard operating procedures.

“Over 100 suspects, including the owner of the club, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, alias Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening. Cartons of illicit substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from suspects at the party and the club’s store,” the statement read.

Babafemi added that the operation was part of ongoing efforts by the NDLEA to clamp down on the sale and consumption of illicit substances in entertainment spots and public gatherings across the country.

NDLEA Intercepts Cocaine, Meth Shipments in Lagos and Enugu

In a related development, NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, uncovered 70 parcels of cocaine hidden inside containers of cocoa butter formula body cream destined for London, United Kingdom.

According to the statement, three suspects were arrested following a series of follow-up operations across Lagos.

Babafemi said the cocaine, weighing 3.60 kilograms, was discovered on October 14, 2025, during the examination of cargoes packaged as personal effects on an Air Peace flight to London.

“A cargo agent, Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, who presented the consignment for airfreight, was promptly arrested. Further investigations led to the arrest of Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, a healthcare worker, and Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi, Chief Executive Officer of a travel agency, Mutiu Adebiyi & Co, at his office on 23 Ladoke Akintola Street, Ikeja GRA, on October 20,” the statement added.

Similarly, NDLEA operatives at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA), Enugu, foiled an attempt by a 35-year-old Lesotho national, Lemena Mark, to export 103.59 grams of methamphetamine concealed in a Diabeto’s Herbs coffee tea pack to the Philippines via an Ethiopian Airlines flight on October 22, 2025.

Babafemi reaffirmed the agency’s determination to dismantle drug trafficking networks and curb the distribution of narcotics within and outside Nigeria.

“Our operatives will continue to take strategic enforcement actions to protect Nigeria’s image and the health of its citizens,” he said.
