The Registrar and Chief Executive of the National
Examinations Council (NECO), Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, has been
bereaved following the death of his father, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Nawuya
Wushishi.
Alhaji Wushishi, a highly respected community leader
in Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State, died at the age of 106.
The death was confirmed in a brief statement issued on
Saturday and signed by the Acting Director, Information and Public Relations
of NECO, Azeez Sani.
According to the statement, the deceased is survived
by 12 children, 60 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, including
Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, the NECO Registrar and Chief Executive.
“He has been buried according to Islamic rites. May
Allah grant him Aljannah Firdausi,” the statement added.
The late Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Nawuya Wushishi was
widely regarded for his longevity, wisdom and contributions to community life
in Niger State.
