Nigeria's football governing body, the Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF), is expected to generate ?75 million from the
upcoming CAF A Licence coaching course, with 25 selected coaches required to
pay ?3 million each as participation fees.
The NFF, which has been grappling with significant
financial obligations, has fixed the course fee at ?3 million per coach, a
decision that has sparked concerns among participants.
Speaking on behalf of NFF President, Ibrahim Musa
Gusau, during the opening ceremony of a six-day CAF B Licence refresher course
in Abuja on Monday, NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi announced that
Nigeria has regained admission into the CAF A coaching programme. He described
the development as a major boost for indigenous coaches seeking to obtain the
highest coaching qualification available on the continent.
However, several coaches have expressed
dissatisfaction with the ?3 million fee, describing it as excessive given the
current economic challenges facing Nigerians. Many believe the cost could limit
access to the prestigious coaching certification for qualified candidates.
