Nigeria has laid to rest Omo Braimah, Captain Ismail,
and other soldiers who lost their lives in active service, in a solemn ceremony
filled with grief and honour.
The fallen officers were killed during an ?????ation
by Boko Haram insurgents on a military formation in Kaga Local Government Area
of Borno State.
The burial took place at the Maimalari Cantonment
Cemetery in Maiduguri, where the soldiers were given full military honours in
recognition of their bravery and dedication to national security.
Dignitaries present at the ceremony included the
Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, alongside top military officials
such as the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Army Staff. They gathered
to pay tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the deceased.
In their remarks, leaders described the fallen
soldiers as patriots who stood firm in the face of danger and gave their lives
to protect the nation. They emphasized that their sacrifice reflects the daily
risks faced by members of the armed forces in maintaining peace and unity.
Prayers were offered for the repose of their souls,
while official citations highlighting their service were read to grieving
families and colleagues.
The ceremony also served as a reminder of the heavy
human cost of Nigeria’s security challenges, as families mourned loved ones who
made the ultimate sacrifice.
As the nation reflects on their loss, officials noted
that the bravery and commitment of the fallen soldiers will continue to inspire
future generations and remain a lasting symbol of service to the country.
