Nigeria Police Academy Begins Screening for 12th Regular Course October 6

The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil-Kano, has announced that screening for candidates of its 12th Regular Course will commence on October 6, 2025.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Registrar, Barrister Ekpere Fidelis Ezeugwu, who emphasized that the screening exercise is compulsory for all applicants who applied during the six-week application window, which closed on September 8, 2025.

Screening Components

The exercise, to be conducted at the Academy in Wudil, will cover:

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT) examination
  • Physical features screening
  • Medical screening
  • Selection board interview

Required Documents

Applicants must present both originals and photocopies of the following:

  • Primary School Leaving Certificate
  • SSCE results (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB)
  • JAMB result slip (minimum of 180 marks)
  • Birth certificate or declaration of age
  • Local Government Area indigene certificate
  • Letter of identification
  • Guarantor’s form (properly filled and signed)
  • Medical certificate of fitness from a government hospital
  • National Identification Number (NIN) slip
  • Four passport photographs
  • Application acknowledgement slip (from the Police Admission Portal)

The Academy warned that failure to present any required document may lead to disqualification.

Dress Code

Candidates are to appear in:

  • White T-shirt
  • White shorts
  • White socks
  • White canvas shoes

The Registrar stressed that this uniform dress code is mandatory for the entire duration of the exercise.

State-Based Schedule

Applicants will only be attended to on dates assigned to their states of origin. “Candidates should note that they will not be attended to before or after the dates indicated,” the statement read.

Background

The application for the 12th Regular Course began on July 28, 2025, requiring candidates to:

  • Possess a valid NIN
  • Score at least 180 marks in JAMB 2025 and select the Academy as first choice
  • Hold at least six credits in SSCE, including English and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings
  • Meet height, chest, medical, and psychological fitness standards
  • Be unmarried and not pregnant at the time of admission

The Academy further urged candidates to rely only on the official Police Admission Portal for updates.
