The Managing Director and Chief Executive of the
Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Barrister Oluwaseun Faleye, has
been conferred with the Corporate Health and Safety Environment (HSE)
Leadership Award by the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria
(ISPON).
The award, presented during the Abuja Safety Summit at
the Yar’Adua Centre on Wednesday, recognizes Faleye’s unwavering support for
health, safety, and environmental initiatives across Nigerian workplaces.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of ISPON Abuja
Chapter, Mrs. Ifeoma Okpara, praised Faleye’s commitment to workplace safety,
describing him as “the most supportive Managing Director,” whose leadership has
made HSE programmes a priority in advancing productivity.
Represented by his Technical Adviser and General
Manager, Dr. Dayo Alao, the NSITF boss expressed gratitude for the honour,
noting that it “serves as motivation to do more” in promoting workplace safety
and health nationwide.
In just one year in office, Faleye has repositioned
NSITF’s safety and health mandate, ensuring the Fund itself meets international
standards. He recently provided critical health equipment — including first aid
kits, blood pressure monitors, body massagers, and blood sugar monitors — to
staff across the country.
The event was attended by top stakeholders, including
ISPON National President, Chief (Dr.) Stephen Udeze; Julius Berger Nigeria’s
Director of Administration, Dr. Abdulaziz Isa Laiya; the Nigerian Navy’s
Director of Safety; NSITF’s General Manager HSE, Anthony Eke; and Head of APRD,
Engr. (Dr.) Nasiru Aminu.
