Security authorities have handed over several officers
accused of receiving bribes to facilitate unauthorised access to restricted
areas, allegedly obstructing lawful security operations.
The officers were said to have confessed to the
allegations and were subsequently transferred to the Independent Corrupt
Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for prosecution.
Meanwhile, officials from the Nigeria Immigration
Service and the Nigeria Customs Service whose actions were not
considered criminal but involved misuse of their uniforms to grant unauthorised
access will face internal administrative sanctions.
Authorities stated that disciplinary measures are
being applied in line with established regulations to ensure accountability and
prevent future breaches of security protocols.
