Men of the Ogun State Police Command intercepted a
motorcycle rider, Godonu Lowe, carrying the body of an adult woman, later
identified as his wife, on Wednesday, November 19.
According to a statement by the command, the police
acted on a tip-off and stopped the suspect. Upon inspection, a sack tied to the
back of his motorcycle was found to contain the corpse, which bore visible
signs of violence, including bleeding around the neck. A blood-stained cutlass
was also recovered at the scene.
The prime suspect has been taken into custody, while
the victim’s remains were evacuated to the State Morgue in Ilaro for
preservation and autopsy.
Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, commended
the anonymous informant for the timely tip-off and urged the public to continue
providing credible information to assist law enforcement. He emphasized that
even minor suspicions reported to the police could help prevent crime and save
lives.
