Families trooped to the Federal Government Girls’
College (FGGC) Bwari, Abuja, on Saturday to withdraw their children following
rising security concerns in the area.
The atmosphere around the school gate was tense as
anxious parents loaded luggage, guided their children, and hurriedly arranged
transportation back home. Many students—some still in school uniforms—were seen
helping one another gather their belongings before departure.
This follows the Federal Government’s directive on
Friday ordering the immediate shutdown of 47 Federal Unity Colleges across
Nigeria due to escalating insecurity.
The order was issued through a circular signed by Binta Abdulkadir,
Director of Senior Secondary Education.
