The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has
dismissed claims by its National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, that his
signature was forged on official letters sent to the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding the party’s forthcoming national
convention.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Monday, the
National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, insisted that the
letters notifying INEC of the November 15 and 16 elective convention in Ibadan,
Oyo State, were duly signed by Anyanwu.
Ologunagba presented evidence of communications
between the national secretary and other party leaders, including his
involvement with the contact and mobilisation committee, where he serves
as secretary.
Anyanwu had earlier petitioned the Department of
State Services (DSS) and the Inspector General of Police, alleging
that his signature was forged on the documents.
