President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the postings
of 31 career and 34 non-career ambassadors to various countries and the United
Nations, bringing the total number of new ambassadors and High Commissioners to
65.
The list, released on March 6, 2026 by Presidential
Spokesman Bayo Onanuga, follows the Senate’s confirmation of the
ambassadors-designate last December.

Vatican, Japan, Greece, Poland, the UK, Australia, USA, Russia, France, Saudi
Arabia, South Korea, Tunisia, and Trinidad & Tobago.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it
has received agréments from the United Kingdom for Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu and
from France for Ambassador Ayo Oke. The remaining 62 designated envoys have had
their nominations sent to the respective countries for approval in accordance
with standard diplomatic procedures.
This large-scale diplomatic reshuffle reflects the
administration’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s global representation
and international relations across multiple continents and at the United
Nations.
