Tinubu Praises Kaduna Governor’s Peace and Security Achievements

Abuja / Kaduna, June 20, 2025 – President Bola Tinubu has formally commended Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State for making significant strides in restoring peace, enhancing security, and revitalising agriculture across the North?West region.

 Stabilising Security in North?West Nigeria

During a stakeholders’ engagement in Kaduna, Governor Uba Sani emphasised that, prior to President Tinubu’s administration, the North?West was plagued by banditry, terrorism, and kidnappings—hampering travel and farming. He credited Tinubu’s interventions with transforming the region’s security landscape and reviving agricultural activities

Tinubu’s Role in Regional Development

Governor Sani highlighted several federal-backed initiatives under Tinubu’s leadership:

  • Distribution of farm inputs to boost agriculture
  • Infrastructure upgrades like the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano corridor, Birnin Gwari–Kaduna, and Jere–Kafanchan roads
  • Establishment of key institutions: North?West Development Commission, livestock ministry, rehabilitation of Kano dams, and the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia
  • Upgrade of Kafanchan’s Yakowa General Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre

These measures, Sani asserted, are tangible proof of Tinubu’s commitment to stabilising and developing the region.

Birnin Gwari Endorsement of Peace Accord

The Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressives Union (BEPU) praised the collaborative efforts of federal and state governments—led by Tinubu and Sani—in ratifying a peace accord that restored stability after decades of unrest. BEPU urged for the expansion of such peace-building strategies to neighbouring states like Zamfara, Niger, Sokoto, and Katsina .

Why It Matters

  • Security Restoration: Revived farming and safer movement benefit thousands of residents.
  • Economic Momentum: The new dams, roads, and institutions are key to regional growth.
  • Peace Model: The Birnin Gwari accord exemplifies a grassroots approach to resolving conflict—potentially a blueprint for wider national adoption.
