Super Eagles midfielder Nathan Tella has expressed his
confidence in Eric Ten Hag’s ability to succeed as Bayer Leverkusen’s new head
coach.
The Dutch manager was recently appointed to take over
from Xabi Alonso, who left the club to join Real Madrid.
“I’m really looking forward to playing under Ten Hag.
I think he’s a fantastic manager,” Tella told Flashscore. “People often focus
only on his time at Manchester United, but they forget he won two trophies
there and had great success at Ajax.”
Tella emphasized that earning the Manchester United
job itself was a testament to Ten Hag's coaching quality.
“Even if things didn’t go exactly as fans hoped at
United, the fact that he’s been chosen to replace someone like Alonso at
Leverkusen says a lot about his pedigree,” he added.
