Uncertainty is surrounding Friday’s Executive Committee meeting of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Dar es Salaam, amid reports of growing internal tensions.

According to reports, several Executive Committee members are considering not travelling to Tanzania due to concerns that a detailed agenda has yet to be formally circulated. The absence of clear communication ahead of what is expected to be a critical meeting has reportedly triggered unease within the continental body.

Sources suggest the delay in releasing the agenda may be linked to internal strategic considerations, including efforts to prevent potential information leaks. However, the development has raised fresh questions about governance processes and transparency within CAF.

The tensions come in the wake of a previous Executive Committee meeting that was reportedly marked by a heated exchange—later denied—between Moroccan FA president Fouzi Lekjaa and Nigeria FA president Ibrahim Musa Gusau.

Friday’s meeting is expected to deliberate on several high-profile matters, including regulatory reforms following Senegal’s reported disqualification from hosting the Africa Cup of Nations final. It is also set to address the status of CAF Secretary General Véron Mosengo-Omba, who is said to have exceeded the statutory age limit for office.

While the proposed boycott by some members remains unconfirmed, the signals emerging from within CAF point to significant strain at a sensitive time for African football’s governing body. Any notable absence of influential Executive Committee members could further fuel concerns about CAF’s internal cohesion and institutional stability.
