President Bola Tinubu has paid tribute to Hon.
Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, the late lawmaker who represented Sagamu, Ikenne, and
Remo North Federal Constituency, describing her as a hardworking and dedicated
leader whose contributions to the 9th and 10th Assemblies were invaluable.
In a statement delivered at her burial service at the
Sagamu Central Mosque, Tinubu, represented by his Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi
Gbajabiamila, expressed shock at her passing and prayed for her eternal rest,
extending his condolences to the people of Ogun State.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon.
Tajudeen Abass, also praised Hon. Onanuga as a diligent and pious woman who
excelled in leadership, particularly as chairperson of the House Committee on
Women Affairs, ensuring effective representation of her constituency.
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, highlighted
her life of impact and dedication to humanity, describing her as a dependable
ally and a pillar of development at the state and national levels.
The funeral, attended by prominent dignitaries
including former Governor Gbenga Daniel, members of the National and State
Assemblies, and other key figures, celebrated the legacy of a woman deeply
committed to her people and her nation.
