President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that
his administration will ultimately overcome terrorism and banditry across the
country, declaring that security forces remain committed to defeating all
criminal elements threatening national peace.
The president made the pledge in his Eid-el-Kabir
message released on Tuesday, May 26, where he acknowledged the continued
attacks by terrorists and bandits on several communities across Nigeria.
Tinubu stated that citizens affected by insecurity
have not been abandoned by the government, promising that ongoing military and
security operations would continue until lasting peace is restored.
According to the president, recent security gains —
including the reported elimination of a wanted ISIS commander — demonstrate
that the government’s efforts are producing results.
Speaking on the economy, Tinubu defended the reforms
introduced by his administration over the past three years, describing them as
difficult but necessary steps toward rebuilding the country.
He argued that the sacrifices made by Nigerians and
the government’s economic policies have started yielding positive outcomes,
including improved economic stability and increased investor confidence.
The president also said Nigeria has moved beyond its
most difficult economic phase and is gradually becoming a more attractive
destination for investment, job creation, and long-term growth.
Describing Eid-el-Kabir as a season of faith,
sacrifice, compassion, and unity, Tinubu urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and
supportive of the nation’s ongoing recovery and reconstruction process.
He maintained that the administration’s reforms are
aimed at building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Nigeria for future
generations.
