Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to appoint
Roberto De Zerbi as their new manager following an agreement between both
parties.
According to reports from UK media outlets, the deal
is nearing completion as Spurs look to stabilise their season.
Managerial Shake-Up Continues
Tottenham recently parted ways with interim coach Igor
Tudor, who spent just over a month in charge, overseeing seven matches.
The club’s struggles have intensified, with the team
sitting just one point above the relegation zone and yet to secure a league win
in 2026.
De Zerbi’s Track Record
De Zerbi built a strong reputation during his time at
Brighton & Hove Albion between 2022 and 2024, earning praise for his
attacking style and tactical approach.
The 46-year-old is currently without a club after
leaving Olympique de Marseille earlier this year by mutual agreement.
Club Facing Historic Threat
Tottenham are now battling to avoid relegation,
something they have not experienced since the 1977/78 season.
Despite having one of the most modern stadiums and
strong financial backing, the club finds itself in a precarious position with
only seven matches remaining.
From European Glory to Survival Battle
The club’s recent history paints a sharp contrast.
Under Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs reached the UEFA Champions League final in
2019.
They also ended a 17-year wait for silverware by
winning the Europa League last season under Ange Postecoglou.
However, Postecoglou was dismissed after a poor league
finish, and his successor, Thomas Frank, was later sacked following a
disappointing run of results.
Race Against Time
With the season nearing its conclusion, Tottenham are
hoping a managerial change can spark a turnaround and help them avoid dropping
into the Championship.
