Turkish club Trabzonspor have reportedly identified
Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare as a key transfer target as they look to
strengthen their attack ahead of the new season.
The club is in the market for a new centre-forward
following Felipe Augusto's transfer to Zenit St. Petersburg, with Arokodare
emerging as one of the leading candidates to fill the void.
According to TRT Spor, Trabzonspor have submitted a
loan offer to Wolverhampton Wanderers for the 25-year-old, who is expected to
leave the club this summer after their relegation from the Premier League.
Turkish journalist Zeki Uzundurukan also reported that
Trabzonspor view Arokodare as a potential replacement for fellow Super Eagles
striker Paul Onuachu if the Nigerian forward departs the club during the
current transfer window.
Arokodare joined Wolves from Belgian side KRC Genk
last year but endured a difficult first season in England. Despite making 42
appearances across all competitions, he managed seven goals and two assists.
The Nigerian forward will be hoping for a fresh
opportunity to revive his form, with Trabzonspor keen to add his physical
presence and attacking qualities to their squad ahead of the new campaign.
