A passenger train travelling toward Moscow derailed in
western Russia, leaving several people injured but no fatalities reported.
The incident occurred in the Ulyanovsk region, about
900 kilometres east of Moscow, when seven carriages of the train left the
tracks during the journey.
Passengers Injured, No Deaths Reported
Authorities confirmed that at least 22 passengers
sustained injuries in the accident.
According to regional officials, two individuals
suffered fractures, while others, including a child, sustained minor injuries
such as bruises.
Train Carrying Over 400 Passengers
The train, which was en route from Chelyabinsk to
Moscow, had more than 400 passengers on board at the time of the derailment.
Images from the scene showed several carriages
overturned, lying on their sides after leaving the tracks.
Cause Still Unknown
The exact cause of the derailment has not yet been
determined.
Authorities have launched an investigation to examine
possible violations of railway safety and operational procedures.
Investigators have already been deployed to the site
as part of efforts to determine what led to the accident.
Emergency Response Underway
Local officials confirmed that emergency services
responded promptly, ensuring that injured passengers received medical attention
and that the situation was brought under control.
