Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, working alongside operatives of the Joint Intelligence Fusion Centre (JIFC), have arrested two suspected logistics suppliers linked to Boko Haram in Gubio town, Borno State.

The suspects, Mal Bunu Gojemi and Zanna Alhaji Mallam, were apprehended around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday during an intelligence-led operation aimed at disrupting terrorist supply networks.

According to military sources, both individuals admitted during preliminary questioning to having long-standing roles in providing logistics support to insurgent groups.

Items recovered from them include three mobile phones, a traditional cap, and ?40,000 in cash.

Following their arrest, the suspects were handed over to the Joint Intelligence Fusion Centre for further investigation.

Authorities confirmed that the operation was carried out smoothly without any confrontation.

The latest development brings the number of suspected terrorist logisticians, couriers, and informants arrested within the past week to 53, as part of intensified efforts by the military to dismantle support networks aiding insurgents.

Military officials noted that the ongoing operations are focused on cutting off supply chains that sustain both Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters across the North-East.

Preliminary findings suggest that the suspects played various roles in facilitating the movement of materials and resources for terrorist groups operating in the region.

The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue, while security forces maintain that sustained operations have significantly weakened insurgent logistics, contributing to a relatively calmer—though still volatile—security environment.

Authorities also reaffirmed that troops remain on high alert, with continued efforts to deny insurgents access to resources and operational freedom.
