Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain will face off in a
high-stakes Champions League semifinal first leg on Tuesday at the Emirates
Stadium, reigniting a rivalry from the league phase. Both sides are eager to
end long waits for European glory.
Mikel Arteta's Gunners reached the semis in style,
thrashing Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate. Despite injuries to key players
including Gabriel, Jorginho, and Partey (suspended), Arsenal are on a 12-game
unbeaten run and confident on home soil, where they beat PSG 2-0 earlier this
season.
PSG, meanwhile, knocked out Liverpool and Aston Villa
en route to the semis but have shown vulnerability with mixed domestic form.
However, their squad remains fully fit, with Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe
leading a dangerous attack.
PSG have never beaten Arsenal in European competition,
and the North London side hope to extend that run as they push toward a
potential final against either Barcelona or Inter Milan on May 31.
