The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),
Nyesom Wike, has assured that there will be no more crisis in Rivers State
ahead of the 2027 elections.
Wike spoke at the unveiling of the Rainbow Coalition
candidates in Port Harcourt, where he declared that the state belongs entirely
to President Bola Tinubu.
"I'm sure that you have made a statement today
for those who might not know, they should know today that Rivers State is
entirely for President Bola Tinubu," he said.
He added that speakers at the event had said Rivers
State is united and that, in this dispensation, there will be no return to
"Rivers of blood," killings or crisis. Instead, he said, the state
will have one united people and one government.
Wike also said it is no longer a case of "winner
takes all," as the APC candidate had put it. According to him, Rivers
State will now be run on a collective leadership, in order to continue from
where the governor stopped.
