Nollywood actress Sandra Okunzuwa has revealed that
acting romantic roles has affected her personal life, including causing the end
of one of her past relationships.
Speaking during a recent interview on the *BTS Reality
Show*, the actress opened up about the emotional challenges actors face when
performing intimate scenes on set.
Okunzuwa dismissed the common belief that actors enjoy
kissing or romantic scenes in movies, explaining that such moments are usually
uncomfortable because of the number of people present during filming.
“If you have twenty people watching you while kissing
in the movie, it is impossible to enjoy it,” she said.
According to her, the presence of directors, camera
operators, sound crew, makeup artists, and other production staff makes it
difficult for actors to feel anything romantic during such scenes.
The actress said she would not mind if intimate scenes
were removed from movies, as long as the audience could still understand and
enjoy the story.
Okunzuwa also recalled how one of her former
boyfriends confronted her after someone sent him a video clip of her kissing a
colleague on a movie set.
She said the incident created serious tension in the
relationship because her partner struggled to separate her acting role from
real life.
“These things affect our personal relationships. For
instance, I had to leave a relationship because of this,” she revealed.
The actress admitted that dating as an entertainer can
be difficult, especially when a partner does not fully understand the demands
of the profession.
She also expressed understanding toward people who say
they cannot date actresses, noting that not everyone can cope with the
emotional pressure that comes with the job.
“It is hard; it is not easy. I do not blame people who
say they cannot date actresses because it is not everyone who can take certain
things,” she said.
