Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has called on Nigerians to remain patient as efforts continue to address challenges in the country’s power sector.

Speaking at the 2026 National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja on Friday, March 27, the governor acknowledged that electricity supply has been unstable in recent weeks.

He noted that resolving long-standing issues within the power sector cannot be achieved within a short period, stressing that it would take time to fully stabilise the system.

Despite the current difficulties, Abiodun expressed optimism that gradual progress is being made, stating that improvements are already underway.

Across the country, many Nigerians have continued to experience worsening power outages over the past two months, a situation largely linked to inadequate gas supply to thermal power plants.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, recently apologised for the situation and assured citizens that noticeable improvements in electricity supply are expected within a short timeframe.
