BUSAN- A fire
erupted in the tail section of an Air Busan (BX) Airbus A321 at Gimhae
International Airport in Busan, South Korea on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred at 10:30 p.m. as the aircraft
prepared for its scheduled flight to Hong Kong (HKG).
Air Busan A321 Catches Fire
Emergency protocols were activated immediately,
leading to the successful evacuation of all 176 passengers and crew members
from the aircraft. Fire response teams rushed to the scene and began
containment operations.
As per the unconfirmed reports the flight involved in
the incident is BX391 operated by Airbus A321-231 registered
as HL7729, powered by IAE engines.
Local authorities confirmed the absence of injuries or
casualties during the evacuation process. Fire suppression efforts continue as
emergency responders work to fully extinguish the blaze in the aircraft’s tail
section.
The incident has drawn attention to aviation safety
procedures at Gimhae International Airport while demonstrating the
effectiveness of emergency evacuation protocols. The cause of the fire remains
under investigation as firefighters complete their containment efforts.

On January 2, 2024, A catastrophic collision at
Tokyo’s Haneda Airport claimed five lives when a Coast Guard aircraft and
a Japan Airlines (JL) Airbus A350 collided on the runway. Transport Minister
Tetsuo Saito confirmed the fatalities occurred among the Coast Guard aircraft
crew, with only the captain surviving.
The Japan Airlines Airbus A350, operating as
flight JL516 from Shin Chitose airport, burst into flames following the impact.
Emergency responders successfully evacuated all 379 passengers and crew members
from the burning commercial aircraft.
NHK broadcast footage showed the aircraft consumed by
flames as emergency teams battled the inferno. The Japan Coast Guard launched
an immediate investigation into the circumstances leading to the collision
between their aircraft and the passenger jet.
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida mobilized government
agencies to conduct rapid damage assessment operations. Initial reports left
five Coast Guard crew members unaccounted for before authorities confirmed
their deaths, while the pilot survived with injuries.
Haneda Airport authorities implemented a complete
runway closure following the incident, halting all flight operations at one of
Japan’s busiest aviation hubs. The collision marked a severe safety incident in
Japanese aviation history, prompting extensive emergency response and
investigation efforts.
