Armed bandits have abducted two wives and five children of a man identified as Lukman Muttaka in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State.

The attack reportedly occurred on Wednesday night, May 13, 2026, when the assailants invaded Muttaka’s residence and took away his family members, including an infant.

During the attack, Muttaka made a desperate appeal for help in a Facebook post written in Hausa.

“Barayi acikin gidana taimaka man dan Allah,” he wrote, which translates to: “Thieves are in my house, help me for God’s sake.”

The incident was also confirmed by Muttaka’s younger brother, Tijjani Lukman Baban Yusra, who shared the news on Facebook.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. Bandits succeeded in entering my elder brother CSI Lukman Muttaka’s house where they took the entire family. We pray Allah keeps them safe,” he wrote.

The abduction of seven members of the same family in a single attack has heightened concerns over the worsening security situation in Zamfara communities.

Residents have continued to call on the government and security agencies to take urgent action to protect lives and property in the affected areas.
