BBNaija Season 11 Begins as 24 Housemates Battle for Record ?100 Million Prize

Big Brother Naija Season 11 officially kicked off on Sunday with the unveiling of 24 housemates who will compete for the show's biggest prize package yet.

Hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, this year's edition is themed "Everything Is For The Taking," also known as "Show Ya Sef," and promises fresh twists, new challenges and an upgraded house designed to keep viewers entertained throughout the season.

The winner of the reality show will receive a grand prize of ?100 million in cash and an SUV, making it the most valuable reward in the history of the BBNaija franchise.

The new housemates come from diverse backgrounds and professions, including entrepreneurs, lawyers, engineers, broadcasters, students, creatives, business owners and entertainers, all hoping to emerge as this season's champion.

Among the first contestants introduced was Tram, a 24-year-old streamer from Lagos State, who declared that his sole focus is winning the competition rather than pursuing romance.

He was followed by Temi Nkem, a 21-year-old model raised in London, who described herself as an independent woman who lives life on her own terms.

One of the night's biggest talking points came from Abi, a 25-year-old chef and model from Osun State, who revealed that she is married, sparking widespread reactions on social media.

Another contestant, Martins, a 30-year-old visual storyteller from Kogi State, also drew attention after disclosing that he is already in a relationship despite joining the reality show.

Other housemates unveiled during the premiere include Chimsom Chuka, Keivo, Mercedes, Kamsi, Sultex, Aikou, Flora, Bells, Gerard, Oyin, Sheba, Araga, Ricky, Nomy, Barry, Neche, Yusuf, Goddessa, Bluethopia and Cassi.

During their introductions, several contestants hinted at their game plans, with some expressing interest in forming alliances and exploring romantic relationships, while others insisted they would remain focused solely on winning the grand prize.

The organisers also unveiled a newly redesigned BBNaija house featuring an "upside-down" concept with bold colours and luxury interiors aimed at reflecting the unpredictable nature of the new season.

According to MultiChoice, the house took months to conceptualise, design and construct before being transformed into a fully equipped television production facility.

Located beside the live studio in Lagos, the house is equipped with 52 robotic PTZ cameras, seven handheld cameras, 59 microphones, 36 antenna blades and 19 speakers to ensure uninterrupted live coverage throughout the competition.

The organisers added that the annual production creates employment for more than 1,000 Nigerians, including engineers, carpenters, electricians, decorators, camera operators, technical crews, caterers and other support staff.

Executive Head of Content and Channels for West Africa, Atinuke Babatunde, said Season 11 builds on the show's legacy by introducing higher stakes, fresh personalities and exciting twists designed to keep audiences engaged until the grand finale.

The launch immediately generated widespread reactions across social media, with fans already discussing contestants' personalities, relationships and early favourites to win the competition.

BBNaija Season 11 succeeds the 2025 edition, which was won by Imisi.
