Crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as
Bobrisky, allegedly smuggled eight ATM cards into Kirikiri Custodial Centre and
used them to facilitate N35 million in transactions from Point of Sale (POS)
operators, which was used to bribe Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)
officials and secure comfort in a private apartment outside the prison.
This revelation was made by the Baale of Kirikiri,
Chief Babalola Shabi, during a town hall meeting organized by the Lagos Police
Command to commemorate National Police Day.
Shabi, widely known as “Baale no-nonsense,” claimed
the crossdresser did not serve his sentence within the correctional facility as
officially reported, but instead stayed in an external residence allegedly
arranged by corrupt prison officials.
He said the officials who facilitated the arrangement
had since been suspended, and the building Bobrisky occupied during the alleged
jail time has been demolished.
“In my effort, I summoned every POS operator in the
community to my palace and invited the EFCC. That’s how the transactions were
traced and the codes uncovered,” Shabi said.
Contradicting a probe report by the National Assembly
that stated Bobrisky served his sentence inside Kirikiri but under preferential
conditions, Shabi insisted the truth had been concealed.
The Baale said both the Department of State Services
(DSS) and the EFCC contacted him regarding the incident, and he provided
assistance throughout the investigations.
“All the prison officials involved were suspended.
They are still on suspension till now,” he confirmed.
