Victor Boniface came off the bench tonight to score an
extra-time winner for holders Bayer Leverkusen to reach the semifinal of the
German Cup at the expense of local rivals FC Cologne.
It was a remarkable comeback by Leverkusen as they
trailed 2-0, before they fought back to draw level on the dot of full time and
take this quarterfinal into extra-time.
Victor Boniface came on to stab home a long
cross by Grimaldo early in the first-half of extra time to lift Leverkusen past
their local rivals.
It was his 10th goal of the season.
The Super Eagles striker has surely put behind a
failed transfer to Saudi Arabia that would have secured his financial future.
