Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, a senior leader in the
Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), has accused the Nigerian government of
underreporting attacks on Christian communities, alleging that political
influence from powerful Islamic figures is shaping the official narrative.
In an interview with British media personality Piers
Morgan, Dachomo claimed to have overseen more than 70 mass burials, some
containing over 500 victims killed in a single night, asserting that the true
scale of the violence is far worse than authorities acknowledge.
The cleric also disputed the government’s claim that
Muslims are equally targeted by extremist groups. He stated that his
fact-finding investigation indicated that Boko Haram was deliberately formed by
high-ranking politicians to destabilize the country during former President
Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, which he noted was Christian-led.
Dachomo emphasized that extremist networks have
intentionally attacked Christian villages, resulting in widespread violence,
destruction, and mass casualties across multiple communities. He insisted that
Nigeria cannot effectively address its security crisis without acknowledging
the true scale and nature of the killings.
