Actor and skitmaker Mr Macaroni has taken to X
(formerly Twitter) to publicly question President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the
recent abduction of schoolchildren in Kebbi State.
Macaroni referenced a resurfaced 2023 campaign post in
which President Tinubu promised to end insecurity if elected. In his tweet, he
asked what concrete steps were currently being taken to rescue the abducted
students and address ongoing security failures in the country.
In a follow-up post, the comedian strongly criticised
Nigeria’s political leaders, accusing them of prioritising election campaigns
and political power over the lives and safety of citizens.
He described the situation as deeply troubling, noting
that the abduction of schoolchildren — coupled with the recent killing of a
military General and other security personnel — occurred without a direct
national address or reassurance from the President.
Macaroni’s statements have since sparked wide
conversations about accountability, leadership response, and the rising wave of
insecurity across Nigeria.
