Dr. Sam Amadi Okereke Emerges as Party’s Consensus Presidential Candidate for 2027

Dr. Sam Amadi Okereke has emerged as the presidential candidate of his party ahead of the 2027 general election following what party leaders described as a broad-based consensus among members and key stakeholders.

The announcement was formally affirmed during a gathering held in Abuja on May 30, 2026, according to a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa.

In the statement, the party described Okereke as a respected governance expert, policy strategist, and reform advocate with extensive experience in public administration, legislative governance, and institutional development.

According to the party, Okereke has established himself as one of Nigeria’s leading voices on governance and public policy through his contributions to legislative research, policy development, and democratic reforms.

He currently serves as President of ERGAF-AFRICA Legislative Governance Innovation and Policy Hub, a policy and legislative research institution focused on governance reforms and public sector development. He also works as a legislative consultant to several committees and ranking lawmakers in the National Assembly.

Beyond his policy and governance roles, Okereke is a resident lecturer in the Department of Public Policy and Administration at Miva Open University, Abuja, where he contributes to the training and development of future public administrators and policy professionals.

The party highlighted his expertise in governance, transparency, accountability, and national development, noting that he has become a respected analyst whose views are frequently sought on major national and international media platforms.

Academically, Okereke holds a doctorate degree in Legislative Governance Studies, as well as master's degrees in Public Administration and Legislative Studies, both earned with distinction.

Party leaders also praised his longstanding commitment to nation-building, youth development, educational advancement, and democratic governance.

They described his emergence as a reflection of the party’s commitment to presenting competent and visionary leadership capable of addressing Nigeria’s political and economic challenges.

According to the statement, Okereke’s leadership qualities, intellectual capacity, and dedication to public service align with the party’s vision of promoting accountable, transparent, and transformational governance.

His emergence adds another prominent name to the growing list of presidential hopefuls preparing for what is expected to be a highly competitive 2027 general election.
