Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has spoken shortly
after participating in the APC governorship primary election at Mbiakpan Obot
Ward Two in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.
He described his nomination as a renewed mandate to
continue serving the people of Akwa Ibom with greater commitment and
dedication.
The governor said his administration will soon set up
a committee to review the performance of his first term and prepare a
second-term development blueprint ahead of the 2027 elections. He tagged the
proposed framework ARISE 2.0.
Eno said the blueprint would build on achievements
already recorded under the ARISE Agenda, while also outlining strategic
priorities for the next phase of governance if he is re-elected.
He appealed for peaceful political campaigns across
the state, urging political parties and candidates to focus on issues,
policies, and development programmes rather than personal attacks and divisive
rhetoric.
Eno stressed that the election should be conducted in
an atmosphere of peace, tolerance, and mutual respect, adding that the
collective interest of Akwa Ibom must come before political differences.
He also declared that he is ready to participate in
political debates ahead of the 2027 elections, saying such platforms would
allow candidates to present their vision and programmes to the electorate.
