The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has
officially ushered in a new administrative era by appointing Charles Chivwela
Chakatazya as its new General Secretary.
Announcing the development on Monday, FAZ stated that
Chakatazya will assume the top administrative role following the exit of
Machacha Shapande, who recently departed Football House by mutual consent.
In a related move to further strengthen its leadership
structure and streamline the management of football affairs in the country, the
association also confirmed the appointment of Iva Lengwe Mumba as the new
Deputy General Secretary.
These leadership changes arrive at a crucial time for
Zambian football. The reshaped FAZ administration is expected to place a strong
emphasis on elevating domestic competitions, improving national team
organization, and driving overall football development nationwide.
Stepping into this highly influential position,
Chakatazya is now tasked with managing the daily operations of the association
while collaborating closely with the FAZ executive committee to advance the
growth of the sport across Zambia.
