Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has
officially approved the appointment of Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th
Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The approval came after a meeting on Wednesday
involving a state government delegation, Oba Ladoja, and members of the Olubadan
Advisory Council.
Speaking on the development, Chief Adeola Oloko,
media aide to Oba Ladoja, confirmed that the installation ceremony will take
place on September 26 at Mapo Hall, Oja-oba, Ibadan.
Oba Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, recently
returned to Ibadan on Monday after spending several weeks away.
His nomination by the Olubadan Advisory Council was
made on August 4, following the passing of the late Oba Owolabi
Olakulehin on July 7, 2025.
The event is expected to draw dignitaries, traditional
rulers, and prominent personalities from across Nigeria, as Ibadan prepares to
welcome its new monarch.
