Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has warned
that the ongoing war involving Iran “will affect everyone,” stressing that no
one—regardless of wealth, religion, or race—will be spared from its
consequences.
Araghchi made the remarks on Wednesday, March 18,
while calling for increased resistance from Western officials against the
conflict. In a post on X, he stated, “[A] wave of global consequences has only
commenced and will affect all – irrespective of wealth, religion, or race.”
His post included the resignation letter of Joe Kent,
the director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, who stepped down on
Tuesday, March 17. In the letter, Kent explained that he could not “in good
conscience” support the war in Iran, arguing that “Iran posed no imminent
threat to our nation.”
Highlighting a growing number of dissenting voices,
including European and U.S. officials, Araghchi called for more members of the
international community to take similar action, describing the conflict as
unjust and urging broader diplomatic pressure against it.
