The blockbuster showdown will take place at the Kaseya Center in Florida, featuring an eight-round sanctioned heavyweight bout with 10oz gloves. The fight marks a massive leap for YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, who steps up to face a former two-time unified world heavyweight champion.

Paul was originally scheduled to fight Gervonta Davis, but that matchup collapsed after a civil lawsuit was filed against Davis. Joshua was then confirmed as the new opponent—an upgrade many fans consider far more dangerous.

“This isn’t an AI simulation. This is Judgment Day,” Paul declared.
“A professional heavyweight fight against an elite world champion in his prime. When I beat Anthony Joshua, every doubt disappears, and nobody can deny me a world title opportunity. To my haters—this is what you wanted. And to the people of the UK, I’m sorry. On December 19 in Miami, live globally on Netflix, Britain’s Goliath gets put to sleep.”

For Joshua, the fight marks his return to the ring for the first time since his knockout loss to former IBF champion Daniel Dubois.

“Jake or anyone can get this work. No mercy,” Joshua said.
“I took some time out, and I’m coming back with a mega show. Whether you like it or not, I’m here for big fights, big numbers, and breaking records while staying cool and composed. Mark my words—more fighters will take opportunities like this in the future. I’m about to break the internet over Jake Paul’s face.”

Paul last fought at heavyweight in November, defeating Mike Tyson by points after the legendary fighter came out of retirement for the exhibition-style clash.

Joshua, meanwhile, enters with one of the most decorated résumés in modern boxing, boasting 28 wins and four losses. He first captured a world title in 2016, later unifying the WBO, WBA, and IBF belts after his iconic war with Wladimir Klitschko. Though he eventually lost his championships to Oleksandr Usyk, now the undisputed heavyweight champion, Joshua remains one of the sport’s most formidable figures.

The December 19 showdown promises global attention, massive numbers, and a clash of personalities and pedigrees—elite champion versus crossover star—on a night set to shake up the boxing world.
